Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is when independent websites showcase your products and services in exchange for some sort of commission on clicks, leads or sales.

It differs from traditional online advertising in that you only pay for results and it's up to you, the advertiser to dictate the rate of commissions for each successful introduction. It's important to get this balance right - too much and you could end up paying large sums of money each month but gaining very little actual business whereas it might be hard to attract affiliates if your rates are not generous enough. affiliate marketing

The big advantage is the spread of websites that your company could be featured on - imagine your adverts/company name/advertorial on several hundred unique websites.

The downside is that managing affiliates is notoriously difficult. Ensuring all links and information are up to date, results are correctly tracked and bogus leads or clicks are scrupulously weeded out takes time.
